Haynes Bridge Middle School Tour Dates:
Welcome and History of Haynes Bridge Middle School Haynes Bridge Middle School, founded in 1983, was one of the first four middle schools to open in the Fulton County School System. Over the years, the campus has been home to Taylor Road Middle School while their school was being built, a wing has been added, portables have come and gone, renovation has occurred, and Haynes Bridge is now undergoing growth again with the addition of a seven-room science lab wing. During the 23 years of existence, Haynes Bridge has had only three principals: Larry Land, Gayle Giles, and currently, Debbie Reeves. The campus is home to a pre-civil war chimney that belonged to the original home of John and Abi Haynes and dates back to the late 1700s. Retired Haynes Bridge teacher, Christie Pratt, was named an Atlanta Journal and Constitution HONOR TEACHER in 1998 and was awarded a $10,000 grant that she pledged to use to move and restore this original Haynes family chimney then located at the corner of Haynes Bridge Road and Georgia 400. It serves not only to honor the Haynes family but also to honor Mrs. Pratts dedication to education and her love of history. The dedication and commitment of the Haynes Bridge staff to their students and in the development of reaching out to others, is evidenced in the myriad of awards and recognitions received over the years.
